Joyce Jong is a Senior Project Manager at the City of Riverside’s Economic Development Division and is also a third-generation farmer. In her City capacity, Joyce coordinates several food systems projects with partners to advance the development of Riverside’s regional food economy. Ms. Jong also served as Agricultural Business Development Coordinator for the City of Riverside. Ms. Jong sits on the board of Riverside Food Systems Alliance and was named the first-ever “Citrus Hero Award” by a state agency in 2017 for recognition of her work locally in fighting the impact of the Asian Citrus Psyllid, which spreads a disease that kills citrus trees in. Mayor Pro Tem Jim Perry said. “Her efforts have greatly increased community awareness of this serious threat to our citrus industry and the backyard trees so many residents enjoy.”
