A voracious reader, lover of the arts, and a certified Harry Potter fan, Kamili Bell Hill is the quintessential renaissance woman. Putting her career in law on hold, she dabbled in everything from event planning to professional fundraising. But it wasn’t until she decided to delve more deeply into her passion for growing plants—inside and out, that Kamili’s life trajectory took off and PlantBlerd was born.
Growing up, she was always surrounded by plants. Whether in her grandmother’s flower and edible garden, or at home with her mom. Her mother created a lush indoor jungle, and she spent many afternoons tending to plants. Her interest in plants has surprisingly lead her into the homes and yards of others—neighbors, friends of friends, past co-workers. Helping people bring more green into their homes, both inside and out, is her true passion.
Combining her love for plants and design, Kamili has curated a brand and community in PlantBlerd that reflects her personal ethos. Often incorporating plants into her clients’ designs, she quickly realized that plants were much more than a tool in her style guide. Plants represent relaxation and a chance for people to connect with nature and each other.
Kamili is a graduate of Fairfield University and Quinnipiac University School of Law. She lives in Westchester County, New York with her husband and two daughters.
